University Of The Philippines Rural High School (UPRHS)
Founded in 1927, UPRHS began with a concentrated focus on agriculture. The school originally stood on the grounds occupied by Los Banos Internment Camp. On June 21, 1999, UPRHS moved to its current home at Brgy. Paciano Rizal Bay, Laguna. Today, with approximately 500 students, UPRHS is a prestigious competitive college preparatory high school. The state pays tuition, but the school charges special fees for certain mandatory activities and supplies. These fees are too high for many poor families. For over 16 years, the LBLMSF has helped more than 200 desperate, but capable students to complete high school.
UPRHS At A Glimpse
A New Academic Calendar
School now starts in August and ends in May with a short semestral break in time for the Christmas holiday.
With the school opening in August, we missed the School Foundations Day celebration, but instead, the celebration was done jointly with the annual UPRHS Alumni Homecoming last December 12, 2016. It was a whole day affair where a thousand and more alumni coming from around the globe took part in the celebration.
Become A Donor
From two grants of $250 in 2003, the Los Banos Liberation Memorial Scholarship Foundation has grown to 15 scholarships per year for students enrolled at the University of the Philippines Rural High School in Los Banos and two scholarships for students continuing on to the University.
